Adam Baldwin with special guest Mariel Buckley
Saturday, October 26, 2024
8:00 PM /
West End Cultural Centre
Singer songwriter Adam Baldwin brings a certain honesty to a show. There’s something about this Nova Scotian artist and the piano keys. It just hits. Maybe you first heard him in his set on CBC’s Q with Tom Power. Maybe you tuned in during his pandemic streamed concerts, the Chin Up Sessions, or maybe you checked him out after his numerous East Coast Music Award wins. Wherever that first listen happens, Adam’s east coast storytelling, Americana sound, and unguarded vulnerability just ring true. His most recent release, Concertos & Serenades, takes perspective on his Atlantic home and its many characters.
“I feel like a lot of these stories just kinda flew in on the west wind off Porter's Lake or off the Atlantic Ocean here,” Baldwin says. “And there's a lot of stories to be told. Just from livin' out here, some of the people you meet - there're some hard, hard men and women out here who worked their asses off out on the ocean for decades. They're different types of people, man, and they’ve got different stories to tell, and I felt like they'd been left out of our song writing tradition for a few years.”
Clarity is one of Adam’s gifts, but there’s no rose coloured glasses here. With Adam’s songs it’s more like he’s seeing his life and his home through a broken lens. We see all the cracks, both the light and the dark. Come hear for yourself, it’s gonna be great.

Red Moon Road - Simple Kind of Christmas
Friday, December 20, 2024
8:00 PM /
West End Cultural Centre
Psssst, Red Moon Road is doing a Christmas show. This is amazing holiday news! "We wanted to bring some holiday cheer to our fans with a fun new album to help keep our community -and us- in good spirits." writes Daniel Jordan.
Their original song “Simple Kind of Christmas" started with something Daniel Jordan brought in, reflecting on how simplifying and appreciating things we already have, has never felt so important. "We hope that there might be some good changes to come from this pandemic experience and maybe some more compassion and focus on what is important; as we wish for in the song: “this too shall pass and well see you at a show, until then please safe and have yourself… A Simple Kind ofChristmas."
A Simple Kind of Christmas is a part of their trilingual Holiday album featuring some traditional favorites and two original songs. Sheena Rattai, lead vocalist writes "We were pleased when we realized this is our first tri-lingual album, with Daniel Peloquin-Hopfner singing “Il est ne le divin enfant” in French, his mother tongue, and myself singing “Oh Tannenbaum” in German, a family tradition passed down from my Oma as well as Daniel Jordan’s family."
In 2023 the band added three new songs and printed the album on a limited run of clear red vinyl. Available on tour and online.

8:00 PM /

Born in Edmonton, AB in 2002, Jaedyn started showing an interest in music at an early age while watching the children’s TV show, the “Wiggles.” At the age of 6, his interest shifted to the Beatles with his first stage performance at the grade 1 talent show, where he performed, “Twist and Shout”, as John Lennon.
Jaedyn caught the Elvis bug after his guest appearance at the 2015 Blue Suede Music Festival held in Busby, Alberta. In 2016 he made history as the youngest competitor to perform in the 15th Annual Penticton Elvis Festival, placing among the top 7 finalists. Since then he has competed and won many awards including 1st place in the Lake George Elvis Festival Non-Pro division in 2018.
Jaedyn performs regularly around Alberta and surrounding provinces for various organizations such as: Royal Canadian Legions, Lions, Rotary, Oilwives, Chambers of Commerce, various senior residencies/lodges and private parties. A particular highlight was his performance alongside Brett Kissel at W. Brett Wilson’s Annual Garden Party, a fundraiser for mental health. Charity work includes performances for The Fort McMurray Fire Relief and Cancer Fundraiser.
Jaedyn loves to perform this genre of music and loves to see the faces of his audiences as they relive the days of their youth. He is incredibly honored to keep the memory of Rock ‘n’ Roll alive.
